Aaron from TweetOnDesign.com won the Epic Church WordPress theme from Organized Themes from the contest we had last week. Congratulations to Aaron.
Be sure to check out the contest for this week, a chance to win the new Basic Church WordPress theme from wpforchurch.com.
Basic Church is a new WordPress theme from wpforchurch.com. Basic includes the following features:
Organized Themes has released a new WordPress theme called Epic. Epic is “designed from the ground up with the needs of churches in mind.” Epic is responsive theme that includes some great features, including:
Central Christian Church in Ocala, FL redesigned their site using the Modernize theme I featured Monday. Trevor Curington, the site designer, let us know about the site and liked the theme’s responsive design and extra features, particularly the page builder. I think it’s a great theme for churches.
Modernize is a responsive WordPress theme available at ThemeForest. Responsive themes are designed to respond to different browser sizes, specifically to accommodate tablets and phones. This negates the need for specific plugins or separate mobile websites. Modernize comes with a great Page Builder feature that can help you do even more within each WordPress page. It also comes with over 350 fonts as well as a font uploader.
On Wednesday I’ll feature a church that used Modernize for their WordPress website.
MinisterSearch is a church staffing organization founded by David Lyons. More than any other team or organization in the world, churches should be the best at hiring the right people. MinisterSearch helps churches and ministers connect with each other in a way that benefits both parties.
They recently redesigned their WordPress based website. It appears they used the free theme Atahualpa and then customized it extensively for a simple, clean, concise look. I recommend you check them out for WordPress ideas and church staffing needs.
In the last post I featured the inFocus theme available at ThemeForest.net as a great theme for churches. The Rock Church of Northeast Arkansas uses that theme on their site and the results are stunning. I like the changes they made to the navigation along with the addition of the service times and social icons in the top right corner. The used the Grunge skin of the inFocus theme and it seems to be a great fit.
Later this week I’ll feature a church website that has an excellent look and feel, all while running on WordPress (obviously). For now though, I’ll share the theme they used. It’s the inFocus theme available at ThemeForest.net. The theme is just $35 for the regular license and comes packed with features and options including:
I love the versatility of the theme and how it could be used for church websites. Check back in a couple days to see how a church used it well with very little customization.
The Bridge Church in Spring Hill, TN uses WordPress for their church website. They used the OnTheGo Theme from Elegant themes, a theme that was originally hand-drawn and scanned in. The OnTheGo theme has a look that communicates fun and the theme comes in 4 different colors.
